Each year since 1992, AIPIO has convened an annual conference and exhibition to promote the intelligence profession in Australia. The conference features international and national speakers, as well as training workshops. The conference is open to the public and normally attracts around 150 delegates. The conference venue is rotated between most State and Territory capital cities to make it readily accessible to AIPIO members throughout Australia. The AIPIO annual conference and exhibition is the premier intelligence event in Australia, attracting the largest public gathering of intelligence practitioners from across all intelligence disciplines. AIPIO is committed to keeping registration fees as low as possible, with fees well other two-day conferences for other professional bodies in Australia. The AIPIO annual conference provides an excellent opportunity for professional education and training, networking between intelligence professionals, as well as learning more about the current and future challenges facing the intelligence profession both in Australia and overseas.
Intelligence 2011 is the next AIPIO annual conference and exhibition. It will be held on the Gold Coast at the Sheraton Mirage, from 19 to 21 July 2011. Intelligence 2011 will be the 20th AIPIO Annual Conference and exhibition. The conference theme is yet to be determined. The conference will feature plenary sessions interspersed with streams of speakers discussing emerging practice issues around leadership, collaboration, support to decision making, and capacity development. At this stage of planning, four interactive training workshops will be offered to delegates as part of the registration fee. The conference offers valuable networking opportunities.
