AIPIO Values - we value

the art and science of intelligence practice, its long history, and its enduring importance in the public, private and academic sectors.

• the diversity of professional practice in the field of intelligence, and seek to serve all intelligence practitioners.

• the contribution of intelligence practitioners in creating and sharing knowledge about the theory and practice of intelligence, and the development of a formal body of knowledge.

• the contribution of key stakeholders in aligned professional bodies, academe, industry, and allied professions in advancing the profession of intelligence.

The Institute conducted a survey and study in the late 1990's to produce a set of ethical behaviours that all would act as guidance to all Members.  This guideline is now under review by a Committee to determine its relevance and appropriateness to current legal requirements associated with privacy, probity, integrity and conduct.  The new standards are also likely to impact the Institutes By-Laws and possibly Constitution.

The Ethics Committee are due to report in May 2015 at which time this site will be updated.
