The AIPIO is a proud sponsor of the “Most Outstanding Female Intelligence Practitioner” award presented by Australasian Council of Women and Policing (ACWAP).

Dr Phil Kowalick (President of AIPIO) and Gill Wilson (AIPIO Board Member & Executive Assistant for Engagement) were delighted to attend the 25th ACWAP Excellence in Policing Awards event held in Brisbane on Thursday 24th October.

The 20 nominations were of a very high standard, and it was a very difficult decision for the judging panel (which included Gill Wilson).

As well as a winner there was a Highly Commended Award which went to Hannah Doak of New Zealand Police (who was unable to be present).

The winner of the award was Katherine Lee from the Offender Management Division, Intelligence & Covert Support Command of Victoria Police.

Katherine received the award for being motivated and collaborative as well as being the key to delivering the maturation of the intelligence practice at the Offender Management Division. She also makes time to be an active mentor for aspiring female intelligence staff and has advanced the intelligence practice by ensuring intelligence products are relevant and effective while establishing innovative intelligence collection opportunities.

Congratulations to Katherine and AIPIO looks forward to hosting her at Intelligence 2025 in Sydney 20-22 August.
